About Kim Tyssowski:
I've spent the last twenty-five years working with clay as a hobby. I am not formally
trained in ceramics but I have learned from many wonderful teachers along the way. Through them I’ve explored throwing on the wheel, handbuilding, sculpture, raku, clay monoprints and, most recently mosaics.
My current focus is on layering glazes to create interesting visual effects to enhance simple thrown forms. I use mid-range brown stoneware and fire to cone six in an electric kiln. Each kiln load includes numerous tests of potential glazes and glaze combinations.
I am a member of both the Potters Guild of Baltimore & the Potters Guild of Annapolis.
