This method of printmaking was developed in 1968 by Pennsylvania artist Mitch Lyons. In brief, colored slips are layered onto a leather hard slab of clay. Stencils and etching tools can be used to refine the design. The resulting image can then be transferred to a sheet of Reemay. Each resulting print is permanent and one of a kind.
